Traveling to Positano is part of the adventure! Getting there can be a bit tricky, but it all depends on your budget and preferences. There are plenty of options to choose from, including some direct routes and others that take you through Sorrento before arriving in Positano.

HOW TO GET TO POSITANO
To make it easier, I’ve broken down the different ways to get from Naples to Positano, so you can choose the one that works best for you. Whether you’re looking for a scenic ferry ride, a budget-friendly option, or something a little more direct, there’s something for everyone!
FERRY (direct)
There’s a direct ferry from Naples to Positano! Depending on the ferry, the trip takes anywhere from 1 to a little over 2 hours, with prices starting at €27. The ferry departs from Naples Beverello, which is about a 15-minute drive or a 40-minute walk from Naples Central Station.

FERRY (other options)
Take a ferry from Naples to Sorrento (45 min) for around €20. Enjoy stunning coastal views during your trip. From Sorrento, you can take the ferry or SITA bus to Positano.

TRAIN
Take the Circumvesuviana train (€4) located on the lower level of Naples Train Station to Sorrento. Trains run every half hour. From Sorrento, you can take the ferry or hop on the SITA bus to Positano. Look for train tickets here
BUS
FlixBus offers service from Naples to Sorrento (1.10 hr). Prices range from €6-€30. Check schedules and book in advance for the best rates. From Sorrento, you can take the ferry or hop on the SITA bus to Positano. Keep in mind, though, that buses can get quite crowded, and there’s a chance you might have to stand for most of the journey—or not get on at all and have to wait for the next one. SHARED SHUTTLE
You can take a shared shuttle to Positano starting at €50 per person. It’s a convenient option and still can be an affordable alternative to a private taxi.
PRIVATE TAXI
The most convenient but also the most expensive option, around €150+. If you reserve on Booking.com or Expedia early enough, it can be cheaper than local taxis.
